Guests/Exhibitors (2015 Recap)

Here at WSS we're working hard to get a fantastic group of guests and exhibitors involved in our event. Keep an eye on this page to find out the latest!

Richard Elson
Nigel Kitching

Richard Elson was one of the most prolific artists for Sonic the Comic during its run in the 90s. Starting in 1993 and staying with the production all the way until the comic ceased printing new stories in 2000, Richard’s works have long been synonymous with the StC, and bringing its most memorable stories to life.

Nigel Kitching is the creative mind behind many of the stories that made Sonic the Comic the roller coaster ride that it was to read. Teamed with the art talent of Richard Elson, Kitching’s stories have always been full of drama, action and fantastic scenes that Sonic fans have remembered years after the comic left print.

Carl Flint
Ferran Rodriguez

Another valued member of the Sonic the Comic art team, Ferran Rodriguez provided several works for the publication, including many covers, pin-ups as well as several strips. Ferran’s unique art style have since become great fan favorites.

Carl Flint is another Sonic the Comic artist whose main work revolved around creating several pieces of cover artwork for the comic. Throughout the comic’s run,

Carl Flint’s work was featured in over 50 issues!

Deborah Tate
Duncan Gutteridge

Deborah Tate was Sonic the Comic’s editor for the vast majority of the publication’s time. Having overseen issues 39 to 166 (25/11/94 - 19/10/99) she was one of the most pivotal people making StC work behind the scenes. She’s responsible for

introducing the Graphic and Photo Zones, and reshaping Amy Rose’s look and character,

Duncan Gutteridge’s artistic works are almost as old as the Sonic series itself. He is responsible for every image in the brilliant Sonic 2 calendar, which saw constant use even beyond the calendar it was  intended for, including several Sonic merchandise items. Duncan's portfolio also includes artwork done for Ecco the Dolphin, and the box art to Streets of Rage II.

Mike Pollock
The Sonic Show

Mike Pollock has been lending his voice talents to series villain Dr. Eggman for over 10 years. Always delivering a joyful, flambouyant portrayal to everyone's favourite blue-hedgehog-hating madman, Mike Pollock will be joining us later in the day via Skype to answer your submitted questions!

The Sonic Show is known for providing Sonic fans the world over with both informative, funny (and often strange) video content relating to the blue blur. The show was conceived and launched right here, in Weston-Super-Mare almost 9 years ago in 2006. Since then, the Sonic Show has grown to become one of the largest creators of Sonic video content in the whole Sonic the Hedgehog community.

I'm an indie comic artist from Wiltshire who grew up reading Sonic the Comic and I owe a lot of my enthusiasm and passion for the creative arts to the tag team of Richard Elson and Nigel Kitching.  On the day, I'll have my comics Arcadia and Superheroes Ltd for sale, as well as various prints (some Sega themed which I am drawing specifically for the event - expect to see some Streets of Rage, Shenmue and Ristar prints alongside Sonic ones).  I will also be open for commissions on the day too (prices for 2015 to be confirmed)
